Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to:

  • Learn how to make use of Meeting Roles and the User Interface; and,
  • Review Breakout Rooms and Broadcasting a message in Adobe Connect.

Use this organizer worksheet to note the important points from the video tutorials OR text supplements, below. You will be sharing the highlights that you note in next week's synchronous session, with others.

1. Using Meeting Roles and Layouts in Adobe Connect:

2. Utilizing Breakout Rooms in Adobe Connect:

3. In class on May 28, 2013 you will participate in a "Jig Saw" learning activity. Please view this Jig Saw activity video to learn about this technique, before arriving to class.

4. Practice what you have learned by using the Masters of Education General Room in Adobe Connect.

5. Want to learn more? Link here to the Adobe Connect 9 User Guide.

Face to Face Breakout Room Instructions:

Remember you are Team 2 Ninjas; so, for the initial activity, you will go to breakout room 2.

A key part of the flipped classroom model is a formative assessment piece that is used to check learner understanding after they have reviewed the content piece outside of scheduled class time. As a member of the Ninja team, you reviewed specific Adobe Connect content from our Wiki page, but you may have noticed that the assessment piece is missing. This is where you come in!

Recall that we provided an advance organizer to help you prepare for today's session. As a group, develop a 5-7 question, multiple choice quiz that could be employed as a ‘Check Your Understanding’ assessment for students to complete, after reviewing the video and/or text content links on the Ninja Wiki Space page.

Of course, you can use the Notes Pod in Adobe Connect to brainstorm your collaborative ideas, but be sure to copy and paste your completed questions into a finalized document that is in either Powerpoint or PDF format. You will access this file again later, to share it with your Jigsaw group.
